The members of The Mary Guentzel Quintet vary in age and musical background, but all share a common goal. They want to be the best at what they do. Along with rehearsing together weekly, they pursue individual musical interests to refine their own sound. Some of the members also currently play with The Echo's, which is a Big Band based out of St. Peter, Minnesota.

In the past, all of them have played with a variety of area bands, including The Moonlighter's Big Band, from which The Mary Guentzel Quintet evolved.
